- How do you calculate engagement rate on X?
- This tool uses the by-impressions formula: add your likes, reposts, replies, and bookmarks, then divide by impressions and multiply by 100. So 300 engagements on 20,000 impressions is a 1.5% engagement rate. By-impressions is the definition X analytics shows, and it is the fairest one because it measures action against the people who actually saw the post, not your whole follower count.
- What is a good engagement rate on X?
- Most posts land between 0.5% and 1.5% of impressions. Anything above 3% is strong, and above 6% is an outlier worth studying and repeating. Smaller accounts often post higher rates than large ones, because a tight, engaged audience acts on more of what it sees.
- Should I measure against impressions or followers?
- Impressions. Follower-based rates flatter accounts with low reach and punish accounts whose posts travel beyond their followers. Measuring against impressions tells you how compelling the post was to the people who saw it, which is the signal you can actually act on.
- Does this tool see my account?
