Best Twitter Scheduler in 2026: 6 Tools Compared, With Prices

The short version

The best Twitter scheduler depends on what you want besides a queue. ClimbX ($29) if you want help growing, Typefully (from $8.25) for clean writing, OpenTweet ($11.99) for the cheapest X-only queue, and Buffer (free or $5 a channel) for many networks.

One change to know: Hypefury no longer supports X. Prices checked on each vendor’s pricing page, October 3, 2026.

A quick note first: ClimbX is our product. It is first because it is the only one here built to help you grow the account. The others mostly publish what you give them. I describe every other tool from its own pricing page. Each one has a “skip it if” as honest as ClimbX’s. What the growth part looks like day to day is in how to grow from 1k to 10k followers. How a tool compares with paying someone to grow you is in X growth services compared.

Twitter schedulers compared

Every tool on this list can queue posts and publish them on time. The difference is what they add around the queue. That can be help writing, help deciding what to post, other networks, or engagement features. Start with the job you need done.

The 6 best Twitter schedulers, by job

The cards below say who each one fits and who should skip it. Jump straight to one:

#1 · $29/mo

ClimbX

Scheduling plus growth: posts in your voice every morning, a calendar, and conversations worth replying to.

1
Pick it if

You want to grow the account, not just fill a queue, and you will edit drafts so they sound like you.

Skip it if

You only need a queue, or you schedule a lot of link posts: ClimbX blocks scheduled links because they cut reach.

You get ten ready posts a day. They are drafted from your past posts and from what works for accounts a few times your size. You edit and schedule them. It never likes, follows or DMs for you, and never replies to other people for you. 7-day free trial7-day trial for $1 (ClimbX pricing).

#2 · From $8.25/mo yearly

Typefully

A clean editor for writing and scheduling posts and threads.

2
Pick it if

Writing is the hard part for you and you want a calm place to draft and queue.

Skip it if

You want help deciding what to post, or monthly billing on the Creator plan.

Free plan with 10 posts a month. Creator is $99 a year, annual billing only. Business is $18 a month per social set billed yearly (Typefully pricing). More in our Typefully alternatives.

#3 · $11.99/mo

OpenTweet

The cheapest X-only queue, with AI drafts.

3
Pick it if

You want X scheduling on a monthly bill for the least money.

Skip it if

You post to several networks or need team review.

Pro covers one X account, 20 posts a day and 10 AI generations a day, with a 7-day trial (OpenTweet pricing).

#4 · Free, or $5/mo a channel

Buffer

One queue for many social networks.

4
Pick it if

X is one of several networks you post to.

Skip it if

X is your main channel and you want X-specific help.

Free plan for 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts each. Essentials is $60 a year per channel (Buffer pricing).

#5 · $29/mo

Tweet Hunter

A large library of viral posts plus scheduling and automation.

5
Pick it if

You want to study viral posts across X while you schedule.

Skip it if

You would rather not use automation features on your account.

Discover is $29 a month with more than 12 million viral posts, scheduling, evergreen reposts and 3,000 auto-DMs a month. The AI writer sits on Grow at $49 (Tweet Hunter pricing).

#6 · $49/mo

SuperX

Engagement and lead tools on top of scheduling.

6
Pick it if

You run outreach on X and want lead tools in one place.

Skip it if

You only need to schedule posts; it is the priciest here.

What happened to Hypefury?

Hypefury’s own pricing page now says it no longer supports X. Its plan covers Bluesky, Threads, LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok. If you used it for X, our Hypefury alternatives for X covers where to move.

What to look for in a Twitter scheduler

It publishes through X’s official API. X’s automation rules say tools that script the X website instead of using the API can get accounts permanently suspended. Every tool on this list uses the API. Be wary of browser extensions that “post for you” by clicking buttons.

Threads, images and video work properly. Most of your best posts will have an image or be a thread. Check that the scheduler uploads media straight to X. If it attaches a link instead, that link costs you reach.

It handles links honestly. In our sample of 1,230 posts, the 90 with a link reached about 0.59x of a typical post. A good scheduler warns you, or moves the link into a reply. ClimbX goes further and blocks scheduled link posts. Some people will find that too strict.

It helps with what to post, if you need that. A queue is only as good as what you put in it. If you struggle to fill the queue, pay for drafting help. If you already have more ideas than slots, a cheap queue is enough.

It does not automate the social part. Scheduling your own posts is fine under X’s rules. Automated likes, keyword-based auto-replies and auto-follows are not. You are responsible for any app you connect. Read what a tool does beyond scheduling before you give it access.

It lets you post when your followers are online. X’s open-source ranking code gives accounts with up to 50,000 followers a small-account boost, but only while a post is under two hours old and has fewer than 200 views. A post scheduled for 4am in your audience’s time zone uses up that window while nobody is there. Pick a scheduler with slots you set by time zone.

When a free scheduler is enough

If you post once or twice a day and already know what to say, a free plan covers it. X itself schedules single posts for free on x.com. Since September 2026 it also does this in the iPhone app. It does not schedule threads, and it is not on Android yet. Buffer’s free plan gives you 10 scheduled posts per channel at a time, and Typefully’s free plan gives you 10 posts a month. That is enough to queue a few days ahead.

Paying starts to make sense when you post several times a day, want analytics on what worked, or want help writing. At that point, the gap between $8 and $49 a month is small next to the time a good tool saves. So pick on features, not price.

Two things that matter more than the scheduler

Skip links in scheduled posts. In a sample of 1,230 posts, the 90 with a link reached about 0.59x of a typical post. Put the link in a reply instead.

Don’t chase the perfect day. Across 35,143 posts from 447 accounts, the best and worst weekdays were only 5 points apart. See the best day to post on X. Posting every day matters more.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best Twitter scheduler in 2026?

It depends on the job. For scheduling plus growth, ClimbX ($29 a month). For clean writing and scheduling, Typefully (from $8.25 a month billed yearly). For the cheapest X-only queue, OpenTweet ($11.99). For many networks, Buffer (free, or $5 a month per channel billed yearly).

Does Hypefury still schedule posts on X?

No. Hypefury’s own pricing page says it no longer supports X. It now covers Bluesky, Threads, LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok.

Is there a free Twitter scheduler?

Yes. X’s own scheduler is free for single posts on x.com and, since a September 2026 rollout, in the iPhone app (not yet on Android). Buffer has a free plan for 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts each, and Typefully has a free plan with 10 posts a month. The X-focused growth tools here are paid, most with a 7-day trial.

Does scheduling posts hurt reach on X?

No. Scheduled posts are published through X’s official API like any other post. Timing matters more: in X’s open-source ranking code, accounts with up to 50,000 followers get a small-account boost only while a post is under two hours old, so schedule for when your followers are online. Links hurt too: in our sample of 1,230 posts, the 90 with a link reached about 0.59x of a typical post.

A scheduler that also tells you what to post.

ClimbX drafts ten posts a day in your voice, schedules what you approve and finds conversations worth replying to.
