Twitter Video Downloader: Download X Videos in HD
Use this Twitter video downloader to save any public clip as an MP4. Paste the post link, pick 1080p, 720p or the highest quality the post has, and download. Free, no signup, no watermark.
How to download a Twitter video
- 1
Copy the link to the post with the video. On X, tap Share, then Copy link. x.com and twitter.com links both work.
- 2
Paste it above and tap Find Video. The tool reads the post and lists every version of the video X keeps in a quality menu.
- 3
Pick a quality. The first option is the highest available, often 1080p. Choose 720p or lower for a smaller file.
- 4
Tap Download and save the MP4. On a phone, move it from Files or Downloads into your gallery, as shown below.
What HD quality to expect
X stores several MP4 versions of each clip, typically a small one around 320p to 480p, a 720p one and, when the upload was HD, a 1080p one. The list shows exactly the versions this post has, highest first, so you never pick a size that does not exist.
Vertical videos are labelled by their short side, so 720p means 720 x 1280. The file is the same one X plays, with no re-encoding and no watermark.
x.com or twitter.com, both work
Twitter became X, but old links still point to the same posts. Paste a link from x.com, twitter.com or mobile.twitter.com, with or without tracking bits like ?s=20 or a /video/1 ending. The tool only needs the post id inside the link.
Save a Twitter video to your phone
- iPhone and iPad. Tap Download and confirm if Safari asks. The file goes to the Files app, under Downloads. Open it there, tap Share and choose Save Video to move it into Photos.
- Android. Chrome saves the file to your Downloads folder. Open it from the download notification or the Files app, and your gallery shows it from there.
- Inside the X app. X opens links in its own browser, which often cannot save files. Tap the menu in the corner, choose Open in browser, and download from Safari or Chrome.
- Desktop. The file lands in your Downloads folder, named climbx-, the post id and the quality.
Use it fairly
Download only posts you made yourself or have permission to use. Saving a clip for yourself is one thing; reposting someone else's work as your own is another. When in doubt, ask the creator and credit them.
Twitter video downloader questions
- Is this Twitter video downloader free?
- Yes. No signup, no watermark and no app. There is a fair-use cap of 60 post lookups and 120 file downloads per connection per day.
- How do I download a Twitter video on iPhone?
- Copy the post link in the X app, open this page in Safari, paste the link, tap Find Video, pick a quality and tap Download. The video goes to Files, under Downloads. Open it, tap Share and choose Save Video to put it in Photos.
- What is the best Twitter video download quality?
- The first option in the quality list, marked highest. It is the largest MP4 X keeps for that clip, usually 1080p or 720p. Lower options are smaller files that save faster on mobile data.
- Why is there no 1080p option?
- X only keeps the sizes the upload supports. A clip filmed or uploaded at 720p has 720p as its highest version, and the tool lists only versions that exist.
- Can I download a video from a reply or a quote post?
- Yes, as long as it is public. Paste the link of the reply itself. If a quote post has no video of its own, you get the video from the post it quotes.
- Does it work for long videos?
- Yes. Long 1080p clips are large files, so on a phone connection 720p is often the faster pick. Live broadcasts and Spaces recordings are not supported.
