Twitter Downloader: Save Videos, GIFs and Photos from X

This Twitter downloader saves the video, GIF or photos from any public post. Paste the link, pick a quality, and the file lands on your device. Works with x.com and twitter.com links.

Works with x.com, twitter.com and mobile.twitter.com links.

How to download from Twitter

  1. 1

Copy the post link. On X, tap Share on the post, then Copy link. On desktop, copy the address bar.

  2. 2

Paste it above and tap Find Media. The tool reads the post and lists every photo, video and GIF on it.

  3. 3

Pick a quality or format. Videos list each resolution the post really has. Photos come at full size as the original file, JPG, PNG or WebP.

  4. 4

Tap Download. The file saves with the post id and quality in its name, ready for Photos, Files or your Downloads folder.

What it saves

  • Videos in every resolution X keeps for the clip, up to 1080p when it was uploaded in HD.
  • GIFs as MP4. X turns every GIF into a short video on upload, so the MP4 is the original file.
  • Photos at the largest size X stores, all four on a multi-image post.

Save it to your phone

  • iPhone and iPad. Tap Download and confirm if Safari asks. The file goes to the Files app, under Downloads. Open it there, tap Share and choose Save Video to move it into Photos.
  • Android. Chrome saves the file to your Downloads folder. Open it from the download notification or the Files app, and your gallery shows it from there.
  • Inside the X app. X opens links in its own browser, which often cannot save files. Tap the menu in the corner, choose Open in browser, and download from Safari or Chrome.
  • Desktop. The file lands in your Downloads folder, named climbx-, the post id and the quality.

Use it fairly

Download only posts you made yourself or have permission to use. Saving a clip for yourself is one thing; reposting someone else's work as your own is another. When in doubt, ask the creator and credit them.

Twitter downloader questions

Is this Twitter downloader free?
Yes. No signup, no watermark and no app to install. There is a fair-use cap of 60 post lookups and 120 file downloads per connection per day, which is far more than one person needs.
Does it work with x.com links?
Yes. x.com and twitter.com are the same site, and a post has the same id on both. Links from the mobile site, links with ?s=20 at the end and links ending in /photo/1 or /video/1 all work.
Can I download from a private account?
No. Only public posts can be read. Posts from protected accounts, deleted posts and some age-restricted posts will show a not found message.
Does the person who posted it get notified?
No. You do not log in, and nothing is liked, followed or posted. The tool only reads the public post.
What if the post quotes another post with the video?
When the post you paste has no media of its own but quotes a post that does, you get the quoted post’s media. For anything else, paste the link of the post that holds the file.
Do you keep the files?
No. Files stream from X’s servers straight to your device. We only remember which media a post has for 24 hours, so a second lookup of the same post is instant.
