The short version
X pays creators through Original Content Rewards. To get in, you need 500,000 Home timeline impressions from verified users in the last 90 days, 500 verified followers and Premium. That is about 5,600 a day.
Your total impressions are not that number. Only views from Premium subscribers count. Your replies count for nothing. Check the real figure in Creator Studio. Then hit the daily pace with original posts, and reply fast under them.

Creators post their progress toward this bar all the time. Usually it is a screenshot of total impressions. That is not the number X checks. The bar counts verified impressions only. This guide shows you how to close that gap.
Some creators reported a 3 million figure in Creator Studio in October 2026. X has not published it. We track the latest in 500K or 3M impressions: what X says now.
The rules, checked October 2026
X retired Creator Revenue Sharing on September 7, 2026. Its old bar was 5 million organic impressions in 3 months. The replacement, Original Content Rewards, asks for fewer views. But it is much stricter about who the viewers are. Here is the bar, from X's help page as of October 12, 2026:
| Requirement | What X asks for | What trips people up |
|---|---|---|
| Impressions | 500,000 Home timeline impressions from verified users in the last 90 days | Replies are excluded, and so is every view from a free account |
| Followers | At least 500 verified followers | Free followers do not count toward the 500 |
| Subscription | Active Premium, Premium+ or Premium Business | Premium Basic is not on the list for your own account |
| Content | Actively post original content | Reposts, clips and lightly edited copies earn nothing |
| Account | Personal or Business, in good standing, 18+ | Political and government organizations are out |
| Country | Based in a supported country | Check the country list on the help page |
Meeting all six does not pay you yet. It lets you apply. X reviews every application.
Why total impressions are not verified impressions
A verified impression is a view from a Premium subscriber. Any tier counts as a viewer, including Basic. For payouts, X is stricter still. It counts a unique view on the Home timeline, with at least half the post visible.
How much smaller depends on one thing: how many of the people who see your posts pay for Premium. X does not publish an average. It varies a lot by niche. So here is the math instead:
- 10% of viewers on Premium5.00M
- 20% of viewers on Premium2.50M
- 30% of viewers on Premium1.67M
- 50% of viewers on Premium1.00M
So two accounts with the same views can land on opposite sides of the bar. Say your viewers are mostly founders, builders and creators on Premium. You need far fewer total views than someone whose posts are mostly seen by free accounts. For reference, after my first 81 days, 57% of my followers were verified.
How to check your verified impressions
- 1
Open Creator Studio, then Original Content Rewards
X says you can check your status there at any time. It is the only place that measures you against the bar. - 2
Read the verified number, not the public one
The impressions under each post are totals. They include free viewers and replies. So they always make your progress look bigger than it is. - 3
Write the number down once a week
The window rolls. Each week, impressions from about 13 weeks ago fall off. A weekly note shows if you are gaining faster than you are losing.
Only have total impressions? Multiply by your best guess of the Premium share. That gives a rough estimate. Trust Creator Studio over it.
The math: 500K in 90 days is about 5,600 a day
500,000 divided by 90 days is 5,556 verified impressions a day. Here it is for the periods you will check:
| Period | Verified impressions needed | Share of the bar |
|---|---|---|
| 1 day | 5,556 | 1.1% |
| 1 week | 38,889 | 7.8% |
| 14 days (one pay period) | 77,778 | 15.6% |
| 30 days | 166,667 | 33.3% |
| 90 days | 500,000 | 100% |
For comparison, here are three real 14-day pay periods from my account, as verified impressions per day. They come from Creator Studio, where the bar is measured too.
- Pace needed for 500K in 90 days5.6K
- My second new-program 14 days25.1K · $367.85 payout
- My first new-program 14 days49.9K · $856.43 payout
- My best 14 days, old program62.5K · $1,286.76 payout
My weaker new-program two weeks still ran at 4.5 times the pace the bar needs.
352K verified in 14 days is 70% of the 90-day bar. Once I had an audience, the daily number was not the hard part. Building the audience was.
So here is the honest read of 5,600 a day. With a few thousand engaged followers, it is not much. With 200 followers, it is the whole problem. That is why the plan below spends the first month on followers.
A 90-day plan for 500K verified impressions
This is what I did from zero, adjusted for the new bar. My first payout took 81 days under the old 5 million rule. I started from an account that had never posted. The full story is in 81 days to my first X payout.
- 1Days 1 to 30: build the basePremium on, 500 verified followers
- 2Days 31 to 60: reach the pace5,600+ verified a day
- 3Days 61 to 90: bank the surplusApply once the sum clears 500K
Days 1 to 30: build the base
Turn on Premium first. You need it to apply. Then post a few times a day. Spend most of your time replying to accounts in your niche that are a few steps ahead of you. Reply impressions do not count toward the bar. But the followers they bring do count. They see your next posts in Home.
My version: a few posts a day plus 50 to 100 replies a day, about 2 hours a day. That took me from 0 to 1,000 followers in 33 days. At my 57% verified share, 1,000 followers is about 570 verified, enough for the 500 rule.
Days 31 to 60: reach the pace
Move your time from other people's posts to your own. I went to 8 posts a day. 90% of my replies were under my own posts, in the first hour. That is when X decides how far a post goes. Each post is a fresh chance at Home timeline views. Your replies under it keep the conversation going, and that keeps it ranking.
Check Creator Studio every week. By the end of this phase, aim for a week above 39,000 verified impressions.
Days 61 to 90: bank the surplus
Phase one rarely hits the pace, so the last month has to run above it. Look at the last 30 days of posts. Find the two or three formats that got the most verified views. Post more of those. Apply the day Creator Studio shows the impressions requirement as met.
| Phase | Your time goes to | Target pace | Running total if you hit it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Days 1 to 30 | Replies to bigger accounts, a few posts a day | ~1K a day | ~30K |
| Days 31 to 60 | Your own posts, replies under them | ~6K a day | ~210K |
| Days 61 to 90 | More of what worked, same reply habit | ~10K a day | ~510K |
Targets for planning, not promised results. If phase one comes in lower, phase three runs a little longer. Nothing resets. The window keeps rolling.
Every week until you apply
- Check verified impressions in Creator Studio, not the number under your posts.
- Post your own takes and experience. Reposted clips and lightly edited copies do not count as original.
- Reply under your own posts in the first hour.
- Cut "like and repost" style asks. X lists repeated engagement asks as a reason for removal.
- Keep Premium active. X requires it before you apply and for every payout after.
What happens after you reach 500K
You apply in Creator Studio. X reviews the account. If it rejects you, you get one appeal. If the appeal fails, you can reapply after 42 days, as long as you still meet every requirement.
Once you are in, you must keep following X's rules on the help page. Stay on Premium. Post original content. No fake engagement. Those rules do not repeat the 500K bar, as of October 12, 2026. Your payout still depends on verified impressions in each 14-day period, with a $30 minimum.

Frequently asked questions
How many impressions do you need to get paid on X?
To join Original Content Rewards you need at least 500,000 Home timeline impressions from verified users in the last 90 days. You also need an active Premium, Premium+ or Premium Business subscription and at least 500 verified followers. Impressions on replies do not count.
What are verified impressions on X?
Views from accounts that pay for X Premium at any tier, including Basic. For payouts, X counts unique Home timeline views where at least half the post was on screen. The same viewer counts once per post. Paid, promoted or fake views do not count.
Why are my verified impressions so much lower than my total impressions?
Your total counts every view from every account, anywhere on X. The payout bar only counts Home timeline views from Premium subscribers. Your replies do not count. Say 20% of the people who see your posts pay for Premium. Then 1 million total views is roughly 200,000 verified ones, before the other cuts.
How many verified impressions a day do you need for 500K in 90 days?
About 5,600 a day, or roughly 39,000 a week. The window rolls. What matters is the sum of the last 90 days on the day you apply, not your first 90 days on X.
Where do I see my verified impressions on X?
In Creator Studio, under Original Content Rewards. X shows your status there for each requirement. Your public post analytics show total impressions. That is not the number the bar uses.
Do I get paid once I reach 500,000 verified impressions?
Not automatically. Reaching the bar lets you apply. X reviews every application for original content. If you are rejected, you get one appeal. After that you can reapply in 42 days. Once approved, payouts come every two weeks with a $30 minimum.
Your posts are what grow the number.
ClimbX drafts posts in your voice, based on what worked for accounts a few times your size. You spend your hours on X in the replies. You edit every draft before it goes live.
