Real benchmark

$150 for 2,500 expected views

Daniel's Monoid sponsorship was priced at $150 for an expected 2,500 views. That is the $60 per 1,000 views baseline used here.

Smaller-account example

1,200 average views becomes a $36 rate

Half of 1,200 is 600 expected sponsored views. At $60 per 1,000 views, the suggested sponsored-post rate is $36.

Price the attention, then add the extras

The calculation gives you a starting price for one ordinary sponsored post. Add more when a brand wants a thread, video, revisions, exclusivity, paid-ad usage, or permission to reuse your words elsewhere. Those requests create more work or limit future deals.

Your audience can also justify a premium when it closely matches the buyer. Five hundred views from SaaS founders can be more valuable than 5,000 broad entertainment views. Keep screenshots of past results so your next price is based on evidence rather than a guess.

Sponsored posts on X, common questions

How much should I charge for a sponsored post on X?
Start with expected views, not follower count. This calculator assumes a sponsored post reaches about half of your normal average and values those expected views at $60 per 1,000. If you average 1,200 views, that means about 600 sponsor views and a suggested rate of $36.
Why does the calculator expect only 50% of my average views?
Sponsored posts often get less engagement than your usual content because the commercial angle gives people less reason to reply or repost. Using 50% keeps the estimate conservative. If your past sponsored posts perform closer to your normal content, use those actual sponsored results when setting your next rate.
Why use $60 per 1,000 views?
The benchmark comes from a real $150 sponsored post that was expected to reach about 2,500 views. That works out to $60 per 1,000 expected views. It is one practical founder and SaaS benchmark, not a universal market rate.
Why can I charge more for a direct brand deal?
A platform or intermediary may keep pricing low and take a cut. In a direct deal, the brand is also paying for your trust, niche fit, creative work, communication, and access to a specific audience. Daniel normally charges $250 for a sponsored quote repost, but your own price should reflect your audience and proven results.
Should I price sponsored posts from followers or views?
Views are the stronger starting point because they show how much attention a typical post actually receives. Followers still matter when they are unusually relevant, trusted, or hard to reach, but a large inactive following should not justify a high rate by itself.
What can make a sponsored post worth more?
A high-value niche, strong audience fit, original creative work, usage rights, exclusivity, multiple revisions, a thread, a video, or proven conversions can all increase the price. Charge those extras separately instead of quietly including them in the basic post rate.
