- My labeled posts in September
If your reach dropped and you don’t know why, look here first. It’s the first time X shows you which of its labels touched your own account. Below: how to open it, how to read it, my own report, and what to do with what you find.
How to open your Under the Hood report
Use the direct link. I could not find it anywhere in X’s settings or menus.
- 1
Log in to X in your browser or app.
The report is tied to the account you are logged in with. - 2
Open x.com/i/jf/under_the_hood.
This is the easier view X added on September 24. - 3
Check the two green ticks.
10 or more posts in the prior month, and an account at least 1 year old. Miss one and you get no report. - 4
Tap View report.
Or tap Download to get the raw JSON file.
What the report shows
Three things, all for the prior calendar month. X says the report is made on a “best-effort basis”, and the code that builds it is open source.
Post labels. Labels on single posts, with how many of your posts got each one, what it means and what it does to visibility.
Account labels. Labels on your whole account. These matter most, because they can affect every post you publish.
Legal limits by country. Since September 19, posts withheld in a country after a legal demand, and which country.
Why labels matter
A post can score well and still be kept out of For You. X first scores posts by how likely you are to engage. Then separate visibility rules decide if the post can be shown at all. Labels feed those rules. The full list is in X algorithm labels and visibility filtering explained. Got a label you don’t recognize? Type it into our X label lookup to see what it hides and what to do.
My own report: 1 labeled post out of 11,897
In September I posted a lot: 11,897 posts, most of them replies. X labeled one of them.

Post labels
SPAM_HIGH_RECALL1 of 11,897 posts · 0.00%What it means
Post detected by automated systems as one that may contain spam.
Effect on visibility
Post hidden from recommendations to non-followers.
Account labels
None in this period
The one label was SPAM_HIGH_RECALL. X’s systems thought that post might be spam, so they hid it from people who don’t follow me. One post out of almost 12,000 is noise. My account had no labels at all.
That matters because I reply a lot, about 400 times a day. Volume alone did not get me labeled. Replies that add something to the conversation don’t look like spam. Copy-paste replies would.
What an empty report means, and what it doesn’t
An empty report is good news, but not a full all-clear. The report only covers a set list of labels. X’s code builds it from an allowlist of labels with user-facing descriptions. So “no labels” means none of the labels X reports on. It doesn’t prove nothing else is holding you back.
If your report is clean and reach is still low, the cause is most likely your posts, your timing or your format. That is fixable. Start with why your X posts get no views.
What it means for small accounts
Small accounts feel labels most. With 800 followers, most new reach comes from For You, and that is exactly where labels hide you.
Usually fine
- Lots of replies that add something
- Posting several times a day
- A country limit in a country that isn’t your audience
- One labeled post in a whole month
Can get you labeled
- Copy-paste replies or the same text over and over
- Follow-unfollow loops
- Engagement pods
- Automation that likes, follows or replies for you
An account label hurts more than a post label. One labeled post is one weak post. An account label can drag down everything. If you see one, change the behavior behind it before you change your content. The risks of pods and bots are in Twitter engagement pods and auto-follow bots.
A country limit is usually not about you. It comes from a legal demand, not a quality signal. If that country is not your audience, little changes. If it is, now you know why reach dropped there.
What to do after you read it
- 1
Write down what you found.
Account labels, post labels, country limits, and the month. You will compare next month. - 2
Account label? Change behavior first.
Slow down bulk replies, stop repeating the same text, and drop any automation that likes, follows or replies for you. - 3
Post labels? Compare those posts.
Look for what they share: topic, images, links or wording. - 4
Clean report? Work on your posts.
Hooks, replies and posting every day. See how to get more impressions on X. - 5
Check again next month.
The report covers the prior month only. Treat it as a monthly checkup.

Frequently asked questions
What is X Under the Hood?
A free monthly report from X. It shows the labels X applied to your account and your posts in the prior month that can limit who sees them. Since September 19, 2026, it also shows posts limited or withheld in a country because of local law.
How do I get my Under the Hood report?
Open x.com/i/jf/under_the_hood while logged in and tap View report. You can also download it as a JSON file. We could not find a link to it anywhere in X’s menus, so the direct link is the way in for now.
Why can’t I see my report?
You need two things: an account at least one year old, and 10 or more posts in the prior month. If you miss either one, X shows the requirements instead of a report. X also calls this a pilot, so access can change.
Does a clean report mean I’m not shadowbanned?
It means none of the labels the report covers were applied. The report only covers a set list of labels, not every internal signal. If yours is clean and reach is still low, look at your content and how often you post first. Our shadowban checker can help too.
Can I appeal a label from the report?
Not from the report. It only shows labels and has no appeal button. The fix is to change whatever likely caused the label, then check next month’s report.
What does SPAM_HIGH_RECALL mean?
X’s automated systems flagged the post as one that may contain spam. The effect: the post is hidden from recommendations to people who don’t follow you. Your followers can still see it.
A clean report doesn’t write your next post.
ClimbX drafts posts in your voice, schedules them and shows which ones grow your account. You edit and approve everything. From $29/month, 7-day trial.
